Malaga Towns To See Mass COVID-19 Tests

A number of towns in the Andalusian region will see mass COVID-19 tests in “the next few days”. The screening was announced by the Junta.

Those invited to participate will receive a text message notification with information about where and when they will be tested. 

In Malaga, Almargen, Cañete la Real, Mollina, Villanueva del Rosario, Marbella, Alcaucín and Alfarnate will test their residents. As well as that, Arenas, Benamocarra, Canillas de Albaida, Comares, Sayalona, Alora, Ardales, Cartajima and Alhaurín de la Torre will also carry out tests. 

Apart from Marbella, these towns have all exceeded 500 accumulated incidence cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. This means that their borders are closed. 

Mass screenings will take place in Albox, Carboneras, Chirivel, Cuevas de Almanzora, Mojácar and Sorbas. In Cadiz, Trebujena, San José del Valle, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Jerez de la Frontera and San Fernando will carry out testing. 

Rute, Pozoblanco, Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo, El Carpio and Benamejí in Rute will carry out tests. In Huelva, residents of Cortegana, Alosno, Isla Cristina and Villalba del Alcor will be tested. 

In Granada, tests will be carried out in Moclín and Padul. Villatorres, Valdepeñas de Jaén, Los Villares, Baeza, Arroyo del Ojanco, Torres and Segura de la Sierra will be tested in Jaén.
