Caminito del Rey To Reopen This Week

Caminito del Rey has announced that it will reopen on December 18th. 

The will open to the public again on the same day that mobility restrictions are lifted in Andalucia. The news of its reopening came yesterday, December 14th, and was announced by the Malaga Provincial Council. 

The King’s Path, built into Los Gaitanes Gorge’s walls in El Chorro, will reopen after weeks of closure and will resume its usual winter timetable. It will open from 9:30 am to 3 pm every day, apart from Christmas Eve and Day and New Years Day. 

Tickets for the remainder of the season, ending on March 1st, 2021, are already on sale on their website. They cost €10 for general admission while guided tours in Spanish or English are €18. 

The route is now COVID-19 compliant. It has hand sanitiser and regular cleaning of contact surfaces such as handrails, helmets and toilets. Tour capacity has also been reduced.
