2,649 COVID-19 Cases Have Been Reported In Andalucia

2,649 positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Andalucia on Monday, October 26th.

The regional health ministry reported the figure alongside 13 deaths from the virus over the past 24 hours. The cases were determined by PCR and rapid antibody tests.

The provinces that detected the most cases in the last 24 hours are Sevilla and Granada. The total number for each came to 679 and 460.

In terms of positive cases, Jaen follows with 407, Cordoba with 398, Malaga with 237, Huelva with 190, Almeria with 161 and Cadiz with 117.

The total figure of positive cases in the area is nearing the figure of the peak of the pandemic. This has lead to concerns over space and beds in hospitals.

In the last 24 hours alone, 174 positive cases have been admitted into hospitals in Andalucia. The overall figure now stands at 2,144. 19 people were admitted to ICU in the past 24 hours, bringing the total figure to 249.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic earlier this year, Andalucia has reported 116,868 cases in total of the coronavirus.

The total death toll in the most populous autonomous community sits at 2,348.
