Andalucia's Teachers To Receive COVID Vaccine This Week

Teachers in Andalucia will receive their vaccination against COVID-19 this week. The rollout will begin this Wednesday, February 24th.

Those aged between 18 and 55 who work in schools will receive the AstraZeneca formula, now available in the region. Both teaching and administration staff will receive the vaccine.

The education department of the Junta de Andalucia will notify staff of the time and location of their appointment through a Covid coordinator in each school. The vaccines will be administrated in the afternoons. The programme will begin with infant and special needs personnel.

“Professionals who deny a vaccination must make it known so that their health history is recorded,” the Ministry of Education has noted. Teachers who are or may be pregnant need to inform their nurse also.
