Four Municipalities in Malaga With Worrying Covid Numbers

Four municipalities are in Malaga have alarmingly high numbers of COVID-19. 

Salares, an area of La Axarquia, has registered 1,775.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to data published by the Regional Ministry of Health and Families. It is followed by Teba with 1,702.1, Gauchin with 1,219.5 and Monda with 806.6. 

Malaga city is at 150.3, Marbella with 149.2, Fuengirola with 210.4 and Ronda with 209.4. 

The province ranks fifth in Andalucia in terms of the rate of new infection with 156.9 positive cases per 100,000. Jaen has been ranked as the worst with 222.9. 

Meanwhile, Atajate, Benadalid and Farajan in Serrania de Ronda have not yet registered a single case of the virus.  

The British strain of COVID-19 has led the Junta to criticise the central Government for lack of border control between Gibraltar and Autonomous Community. 16 cases of it have been recorded already, with 11 of them in Malaga.
