Eight beachgoers, including five young children, were rescued by lifeguard staff this weekend after getting trapped in a rocky area by strong current at a Marbella beach.
Lifeguards spotted the group Saturday (August 7) morning at 11:40am in distress.
Two lifeguards, employed by Socorrismo Malaga, took to the waters off of Cabopino beach to help the group. Meanwhile a third lifeguard was joined by a bystander to assist the bathers when they were safely out of the water.
Luckily the bathers sustained only minor cuts and bruises, however one of the lifeguards was transported to the Costa del Sol Hospital for medical treatment. They were later discharged.
